“I work very hard, and I play very hard. I’m grateful for life. And I live it - I believe life loves the lover of it. ”
Hey there, I’m Jeff O.
And it is my pleasure to make your acquaintance. I have been very fortunate in life. I met the love of my life some 24 years ago and have 3 fantastic sons with her. And I am aware of and grateful for the many opportunities and privileges I have had over the years.
While I once aspired to be a university professor in Southeast Asian History, life takes those turns that it takes and I am now a senior business executive. I did complete my MA Southeast Asian Studies at UW Madison, and later my MBA at Thunderbird down in Phoenix. History is still a part of me, and I am constantly reading and learning more. But I have been at senior levels of business, Managing Director/Country Manager (President)/EVIP etc for over 20 years now.
I am passionate about people, reading (everything, all the time), fitness & health, and I believe we are all lifelong students - never stop learning! I have had many successes and feel I have gained wisdom over the years but I am also fallible and have failed and learned some really tough lessons. I am not perfect and while I always strive to be better, I am also okay with knowing my imperfections and facing them as best I can.
I see myself (and raise my children as) as a global citizen(s). I have found I am at ease in almost any place and under most circumstances. I am equally at peace in Indonesia, China, Mexico or Texas. I believe that across the globe we have more in common than not, religions and philosophies and moral disciplines are different by degrees not chasms.
I learned along the way, the way I see myself is often different from the way I am seen and it is important to ask, to listen, and to contemplate. Closing the gap between perception and reality is truly a lifelong endeavor.
You can learn more about me (if you so desire) by rummaging through the few pages I have on this site. The intent is to draw the human out of the executive so that at the end of the day you have a better understanding of who I am, what drives me, and what value I might bring to any organization.
Thanks for reading and exploring!
Jeff
